Project history: Built in UK under French order, similar to British Flower class. Successful multi-purpose ships, first ocean-going escorts.

Modernizations: 1918, all survived: - 4 x 1 - 47/40; + 2 x 1 - 75/35 M1897.

Naval service: Rigel was sunk 2.10.1916 at Algerian coast by torpedo from German submarine U35.
