Project history: Similar to the earlier Condor class except where indicated above. Fleurus should have been completed in 1894 but was delayed by defective boilers.

Ship protection: The curved armour deck was 40mm and there was a cofferdam above and splinter deck below over the machinery spaces.

Modernizations: 1890s, both: - 4 - 350 TT

Naval service: No significant events.
