Project history: Ordered 20.9.1877. Originally fitted with a Claparède submerged TT, which was replaced by twin 350mm TT forward, then by 2 fixed bow TT, and finally by a trainable twin mounting aft.

Modernizations: 1880s: - 1 - 380 TT; + 1 x 2 - 350 TT

1880s: - 1 x 2 - 350 TT; + 2 - 380 TT (bow)

1890s: - 2 - 380 TT; + 1 x 2 - 380 TT

Naval service: After several boiler changes and trials with smoke-making equipment, No 28 served as a tender to the torpedo TS L'Algesiras, was stricken in 1908 and sold in 1911.
