Project history: Ordered 12.11.1877. The original bow TT was converted to compressed air in 1880 after it was found that steam obscured the helmsman's view on launching the torpedo. This was replaced during 1887-9 by a spar torpedo and a twin trainable TT mounting aft, but stability was adversely affected and the spar was removed and the superstructure cut down. This vessel was particularly successful and served as a prototype for the '33-metre' type.

Modernizations: 1889: - 1 - 380 TT; + 1 x 2 - 380 TT, 1 spar torpedo

1890: - 1 spar torpedo

Naval service: Stricken in 1903 and sold in 1904.
