Project history: Ordered on 12.11.1877. The first French TB with a gun armament; originally fitted with a Claparède submerged tube that launched the torpedo by means of a steam-powered ram but this was replaced by a straight stem with a tube on each side fired by compressed air.

Modernizations: 1880s: - 1 - 380 TT; + 2 x 1 - 350 TT

Naval service: Stricken in 1901 and sold in 1914.
