1943, Cap des Palmes was rearmed with 2 x 1 - 152/45, 2 x 1 - 76/45, 8 x 1 - 20/70, 2 x 3 - 533 TT, 4 DCT.

1943, Barfleur: - 5 x 1 - 149/45, 2 x 1 - 37/50; + 6 x 1 - 20/70

1943, Quercy: - 2 x 1 - 139/40, 6 x 1 - 37/50, 10 x 1 - 13.2/76; + 8 x 1 - 20/70

Naval service: Aramis was laid up in Indo-China in August, 1940, later captured by Japanese and sunk by USN submarine Rasher. El Mansour was paid off in October, 1940, later captured by Italians, renamed Anagni and scuttled at Marseilles in August, 1944. Bougainville was sunk 6.5.1942 at Diego Suarez by British aircraft. El Djezair was paid off in October, 1940, later captured by Germans, transferred by them to Italians as Cassino, re-captured by Germans in 1943 and sunk 25.6.1944 by Allied aircraft. El Kantara was paid off in October, 1940, later captured by Italians as Aquino and sunk by Allied aircraft 2.4.1943. Estérel was paid off in November, 1940, later captured by Germans and ran aground after being attacked by British submarine Shakespeare.
