Project history: Intended for the surveillance and control of territorial waters, these vessels were to have been the first of a series of thirty patrouilleurs projected under the plan bleu, of which sixteen were for overseas service. In the event they proved too small for the latter task, and after four boats had been completed the programme was abandoned in favour of the larger Super PATRA.

Modernizations: late 1970s, all completed: - 6 x 1 SS.12 SSM; + 1 x 1 - 12.7/90

Naval service: No significant events.
