Project history: Former Russian patrols of Vodorez class. Class consisted from six ships, incomplete to the revolution beginning. After revolution they all were captured by Finns. In 1921 Lun' and Vodorez were sold to Poland, Gorlitsa and Sova broken up, and Filin and Orlan were completed for Finnish Navy as Karjala and Turunmaa (originally Lun` and Vodorez were named so) and rated as gunboats.

Modernizations: early 1940s, both: - 1 x 1 - 40/39; + 3 x 1 - 20/60 Madsen.

Naval service: Turunmaa 2.5.1943 at Haapassaari was hard damaged by Soviet aircraft, stranded under tow and masked. She was commissioned again in October, 1943. After war both were used as minesweepers in Gulf of Finland and BU in 1953.
