Project history: Former Russian patrols of Golub' class. Class consisted from six ships, incomplete to the revolution beginning. During German occupation of Finland in 1918 they all were captured by German troops and in 1920 after minesweeping in East Baltic returned to Finns. Golub` and Pingvin were commissioned by Finnish Navy and rated as gunboats. Remaining ships (Bekas, Kulik, Chibis, Strizh) in 1920 were sold to Chile.

Modernizations: late 1930s, both: armament was fully replaced by 2 x 1 - 105/42 SK C/32, 2 x 1 - 40/56 Bofors, 1 x 1 - 20/60 Madsen.

Naval service: After war both ship were used as minesweepers in Gulf of Finland, sold 1953 for BU.
