Project history: Former Soviet corvettes (guard ships) of project 159A, transferred after service under Soviet flag.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: F1616 escaped to Dahlak in 1990, but badly damaged by Eritrean People's Liberation Front forces and scuttled in February 1990. F1617 left to Yemen in May 1991, in 1993 was interned by Djibouti, seized by Djiboutian authorities 16.9.1996 and sold by them for scrap.
