Project history: Originally ordered by the USA as a part of a NATO order in France, where a whole series of this type was built. Intended for West Germany under MDAP, but not delivered, being transferred to Ethiopia in 1957 under MDAP as her first warship.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Found to be too advanced for then state of Ethiopian naval training, and returned to the US in 1958.
