Project history: Launched in 1975-1976 at Alexandria with Soviet project 183R wooden hulls and Italian machinery. Weapons and electronics were installed in 1979-1981 by Vosper-Thornycroft. No212 was lost overboard during delivery 16/121980, salvaged and returned to the UK 30.6.1981, and completed repairs 13.8.1982.

Modernizations: 1994, all survived: - Cutlass ECM suite; + Triton ECM suite

2007, all survived: - 2 x 1 Otomat Mk 1 SSM; + 2 x 1 Otomat Mk 2 SSM (2 Otomat Mk 2)

Naval service: No significant events.
