Project history: Designing of submarines of this class was conducted by Danish Admiralty on the basis of American Holland-designed boats, but with a number of original technical decisions. Original arrangement of TTs has been applied on them: three in a bow (one over another) and one in a stern, and latter launched a torpedo under an angle upwards. Deck TT before CT was passed trials on lead submarine, but its construction has appeared unsuccessful: it was removed from Rota, and two other boats never received it. Single-hulled.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: All three submarines were scuttled by crews 29.8.1943 at Copenhagen.
