Project history: Perhaps, fishery protection ships were unique ships of Danish Navy, intended for operations in high seas, though, of course, it is very difficult to consider them as rigorous warships. They represented very variegated company: huge, to Danish measures, Ingolf with more than 1000t displacement, armed with 120mm guns and carrying a seaplane, and small 80t Ternen with 37mm gun.

Modernizations: 1945, armament consisted from: 1 x 1 - 75/55 KM12, 2 x 1 - 20/60 Madsen

1948: + 1 x 1 - 75/55 KM12

1952: - 1 x 1 - 75/55, 2 x 1 - 20/60; + 1 x 1 - 40/60 Mk 3, radar

Naval service: Hejmdal was scuttled 29.8.1943 at Holmen by the crew, later she was raised by Germans, renamed Nerger and commissioned by Kriegsmarine 1.3.1944. She was retroceded in May, 1945, commissioned again, served till 1960 as patrol and since 1954 as logistic vessel.
