Project history: An unusual design with a complete belt and the 4-26cm guns in a main deck battery of which the forward part formed a barbette for the 305mm gun.

Ship protection: Ship was protected by 305-203mm side armour, all big guns had 254mm protection.

1887: - 6 x 5 - 37/17; + 2 x 1 - 57/40 M.1885, 3 x 1 - 37/20 M.1885

Naval service: No significant events.
