Project history: The successful ships, ordered 31.8.1929 at 195.000$ for one boat. Hull abreast machinery and magazines had bulletproof plating. Gunboats shown magnificent seaworthiness for river ships, having made with British crews self-supporting 24-day passage through Atlantic with one stop at St.Vincent.

Modernizations: 1942-1945, all: + 1 x 1 - 20/70 Mk 4

1960s, all: - 1 x 1 - 20/70; + 1 x 1 - 40/60 Mk 3

Naval service: Barranquilla served on Magdalena, two others on Amazon and Putumayo.
