Project history: Trials submarine, replacement for Russian-built project 629. SLBM tubes are placed in the sail, VLS for cruising and anti-ship missiles arranged in the forward hull part. Its planned that during wartime this submarine can operate as combat unit with JL-2 missiles.

Naval service: No significant events.
