Project history: Slightly increased variant of Hsien Ning with slightly changed armament.
Modernizations: 1960s, Zhangjian: was armed with 2 x 2 - 37/73 type 69, 3 x 2 - 25/68 type 61, radar
Naval service: In 1949 Ming Chuan was commissioned by Navy of Peoples Republic of China as Hsien Ning, then Chang Chiang. She served in PRC Naval Forces up to the end of 1970s and since 1984 was preserved as memorial.
