Project history: Built for Canton squadron. Ships had lattice masts and splinterproof armour. On Canton dialect names were read as Kin Yu and Chip Shun.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Authentic data about fate are absent; possibly, in September, 1937 both were sunk by Japanese aircraft at Canton (Guangzhou).
