Project history: Ships were armed by one field howitzer.

Naval service: In 1931 they were laid up. Further fate is inconsistent; most likely, Tsung Chen was sunk by Japanese aircraft in October, 1938, and remaining two were lost in 1940s being inoperable since 1930s.
