Project history: Ordered in 1932 in number of 8 boats. Later the order was shrunk to two MTBs (building numbers 2269 and 2270), built in 1933 for Canton squadron for replacement of older MAS226 and 227, bought in Italy in 1921. Enhanced 55ft Thornycroft type of WWI-period. Wooden stepped hull. Kuai 2 on trials on Thames in November, 1933 reached 43kts.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: In January, 1934 both boats passed to Canton (Guangzhou) where they were lost in October, 1938.
