Project history: Built of wood and aluminium, they were designed for harbour patrol and ASW training.

Modernizations:  None.

Naval service: Blue Heron was transferred to the Marine Section of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1956, and the remaining three were paid off in 1963 (PCS781) and 1965 (PCS780, 783).
