Project history: Designed with technical support of Thornycroft, also supplied machinery. Successful ship, with strong armament and good protection. Intended for operations on rivers around border with Bolivia, but because of considerable draught she appeared of little use for this role.

Ship protection: Sides and deck were partially protected by 76mm and 38mm armour respectively.

Modernizations: 1942-1945: + 2 x 1 - 87/13 howitzer, 4 x 1 - 20/70 Mk 4

1960: - 1 x 1 - 152/50, 2 x 1 - 87/13; + 1 x 1 - 76/50 Mk 22, 2 x 1 - 40/60 Mk 3, 2 x 1 - 20/70 Mk 4

1996: machinery was fully replaced by 2 diesels (1300hp, 12kts); + Racal Decca, Furuno 3600 radars

1998-1999: - 2 x 1 - 40/60; + 2 x 1 - 40/70 Bofors L/70 M48, helicopter platform for 1 Esquilo helicopter

Naval service: No significant events.
