Project history: Multi-purpose ships, capable to carry minelaying or minesweeping equipment. They were projected on a basis of German minesweepers of the WWI period. During the Second World War they were converted to escorts and re-rated as corvettes.

Naval service: Camaquã foundered 21.7.1944 during a storm off Pernambuco. Survived ships after war were again converted to minesweepers, except Camocim, remained a corvette.
