Project history: First two units ordered in 2006 under the NAPA 500 (Naval Patrol Boat 500t) program. Seventh unit ordered in 2011. Built to the French CMN Vigilante 400 CL 54 design. Intended for EEZ patrol, counternarcotics, fisheries protection, search-and-rescue, and general patrol duties. Built in Brazil with French assistance. Up to 12 units of this class initially were planned to built. Building of class was suspended after bankruptcy of EISA.
