Project history: American Cannon (DET) class destroyer escorts, transferred to Brazilian Navy after service under USN flag. Originally they carried hull numbers Be1-8, in 1955 changed to D16-23, in 1965 ships were re-rated as "ocean avizos" (patrol ships).

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Bauru in 1981-1982 was reconstructed into appearance of wartime and 21.7.1982 was opened as naval museum, having kept till now.
