Project history: Modified and lengthened variant of the British River-class patrol ships. Originally ordered by Trinidad and Tobagois Coast Guard in 2007; the order was cancelled during 2010 due to production delays. During December 2011 the craft were sold to Brazil for the discounted price, including crew-training and support services. The contract included the option for Brazil to construct five or more of the vessels domestically, under license from the British shipbuilder. Fitted with a landing deck for a medium-sized helicopter. Intended primarily for EEZ and fisheries protection, coastal patrols and natural disaster relief missions. There are 16t crane and fast RIB.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: No significant events.
