Project history: A steel-hulled, modified Tupi class boat with a different hull form giving 0.5kt extra speed on 500ihp less power. She could be distinguished from the Tupis by the prominent tops on both masts.

Ship protection: Machinery was protected by 13mm deck and 12cm guns by 114mm shields. CT had 25mm sides.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: No significant events.
