Project history: Submarines were designed by Tosi on a basis of Italian Settembrini, in the Argentina references figure as Tarantinos class (i.e. constructed in Taranto). The contract by 208,000£ for one boat unit was concluded 29.9.1926. Saddle-tank hull. Pressure hull was shared on 5 compartments, the central station was a bulk hold-refuge. Submarines arrived to Argentina 7.4.1933. For their basing old armoured cruiser General Belgrano was used.
