Project history: Ordered in the Great Britain under special 1934 programme, simultaneously with cruiser La Argentina. Destroyers were built by various private companies under drawings of British destroyer Gallant.

Modernizations: 1956, all survived: - 1 x 4 - 533 TT; + 4 DCT, 1 DCR

1958-1959, all survived: - 1 x 1 - 120/45, 2 x 4 - 12.7/62, 1 x 4 - 533 TT; + 4 x 1 - 40/60 Mk 3, 2 - 324 ASW TL, 2 x 24 - 178 Hedgehog Mk 10 ASWRL, radars, sonar

Naval service: Corrientes has sunk 3.10.1941 as result of collision with cruiser Almirante Brown at Tierra del Fuego.
