Project history: Chinese hydrofoils of Type 025.

Modernizations: late 1990s, mostly: foils were removed.

Naval service: One boat defected in May 1991 to Italy, where the crew requested asylum, the craft was returned in October. Ten units went to Italy in 1997 and returned in 1997-1999 after repair.
